Adena Girls Power Lifting in action today at Madison Plains.
Adena students studying the new OTCO course got to take their classroom to the field when they visited the Chillicothe Wastewater Treatment Plant. Many thanks to Jared Roe, superintendent and his staff for leading the students around and explaining the crucial role that wastewater treatment plays in the environment.
The students learned that the plant operates as an extended aeration facility and treats on average 3.0 million gallons per day. The sewer system consists of approximately 100 miles of sewer pipe that transports the wastewater throughout the city to the plant. They also got to witness the workings of the plant that is currently undergoing a $64 million dollar renovation/upgrade process and see construction of new tanks and equipment as well as information on the latest forms of treatment that will be utilized at the new facility. The project is slated to be completed by the end of 2026.
This course aims to recruit and train the next generation of professionals in both water and wastewater treatment career fields.
It was an eye opening experience for the students, and we are extremely grateful for the partnership with both Jared Roe, City of Chillicothe Wastewater, and Curtis Truss, Executive Director, Operator Training Committee of Ohio, Inc (OTCO)
While you are at conferences tonight and tomorrow, please stop by the lost and found and check if your child's items are there. We have a lot!

Mrs. Acton reports that while outside playing basketball with friends during latchkey Abram saw a girl who was new to latchkey playing alone. He walked up to her and asked her to play. At snack time she had no where to sit and he offered her a seat next to him. I was extremely proud of Abram befriending someone who is much younger.
