Parents- YOU’RE INVITED!!! Parents and guardians of Adena students are invited to our upcoming Academic and Career awareness night, Monday, November 1st, from 5:30-7:00 p.m.. We strongly encourage all 8th - 12th grade families to join their kids in exploring the career options available both with and without a college degree that provide a good living to students who are willing to put in the time and effort to learn the skills and work into a full-time job. We have scheduled many local employers who will be available to share with students what they look for in potential employees and what school skills they need to be successful in their jobs along with displays of projects/learning produced by students. Several classrooms will have presentations and information for you to take part in throughout the evening. There will be an Informational meeting beginning at 5:30 to introduce our Career reps and provide an overview of the NEW Ohio Graduation Requirements for the class of 2023 and beyond for students and parents in grades 8-11. Preschool, Elementary and Middle School teachers have also prepared activities focusing on literacy, math, and technology with fun activities throughout the evening. The cafeteria will offer hotdogs, chips and drinks if your schedule is busy and you need to get a quick meal or snack. Please join us for “Line Up for Literacy” this Monday, November 1st from 5:30-7:00 p.m. at Adena School. Together, we can help our kids accomplish great things!

Hello! We need your help. The Adena Local Schools invite you to take a look at the staff pumpkin decorating contest results. Your challenge is to pick one (1) and only ONE favorite pumpkin from the gallery. We thank all staff who submitted an entry. We hope this friendly competition has provided a brief respite from the stress and worry of working during the pandemic. We appreciate everyone's efforts to help give our students as much "normal" as we can provide and applaud everyone for making it possible to keep the doors open through the surge. Congratulations and THANKS to all Adena staff for your hard work in support of our children, and may the best pumpkin win! https://forms.gle/LXMko7ZNM3XhHi9n9

Thank you Adena FCCLA and community service students for representing Adena High School. These students went to a Nature Preserve and worked very hard clearing two pathways for a total of 5 miles in preparation for a big event being held on behalf of our local environment and animal rescue. Nicely done young warriors.

The Adena Local School District will have a levy issue on the November 2, 2021 general election ballot. The levy is a 10-year, 1% earned income tax for permanent improvements. A permanent improvement levy requires funds to be spent for building maintenance and improvements, buses, technology, textbooks, equipment, and other non-personnel expenses. The additional funds will allow the district’s general fund to maintain the operations of the school, enabling the Board to take a balanced and sensible approach to the overall financial condition of the district and remaining competitive with the surrounding districts of Ross County. An earned income tax applies to earned wages and business income. Property, retirement, pension, social security, and other investment income are not taxed under this type of levy. There will be two community meetings for the public to attend with any questions they might have. One meeting will be held on September 20th (7:00 P.M.) at the Brick located at 113 East High Street in Frankfort. The second will be held on September 27th (7:00 P.M.) at Clarksburg United Methodist Church. The levy is supported by Citizens for Adena Schools Levy Committee, Max Francis, Treasurer.
